JOIN OUR STORYTELLING SESSIONS
We invite you to be a part of a unique storytelling session designed specifically for K-12 art teachers. A storytelling session is an online space for you to share your experiences, challenges, and successes as an art educator. Your stories will play a crucial role in shaping our understanding of the realities of teaching art in schools today.
Why Your Stories Matter
The experiences you share will contribute to a larger research project aimed at exploring the lived realities of K-12 art teachers. Through your stories, we hope to gain deeper insights into the challenges and opportunities in art education amidst current legislation and policy. By participating, you will help create a collective narrative that highlights the vital role of art education in K-12 settings. Your stories could lead to new case studies, influence art education policies, and inspire fellow educators.
Ready to Share Your Story?
Several ways are available for you to contribute to the project. You can call or text us, write and submit your answers directly on our website, or upload your own creative work. In addition to collecting stories on our website, we will also offer K-12 art teachers the opportunity to participate in one of our Zoom storytelling sessions, which will take place every month beginning in October 2024.
What is a Storytelling Session?
The Storytelling Session is an online space where art teachers can come together to share their personal and professional experiences. Unlike a traditional focus group, this is a more open and reflective space for conversation. Whether it is about a memorable project, a transformative moment with a student, or your thoughts on the evolving role of art education, your voice matters. All participants, regardless of how they choose to participate, are given a set of generative questions to use as inspiration for their responses. Those questions are available on our website and will be shared with you during our Zoom session.
